CTAWA 2021 Grain Silo Art Tour

Saturday April 17, 2021 - Saturday May 8, 2021

Distance: ~1240km: , ,

Due to capacity limits in some camping areas the tour is now full. No more entries can be accepted.

Please read the Relaxation of Conditions. The tour is a “full” pannier tour with some limited support. With travel options outside of WA still limited this support is being provided to ensure greater participation of our membership.

As we currently enjoy unrestricted travel within Western Australia, I have organised a longer duration cycle tour based upon FORM’s PUBLIC Silo Trail which showcases world class murals painted on grain silos in unexpected towns across the State. The route takes in 6 of the seven painted silos, with the exception of the one in Albany.

This total 22 day, unsupported tour of 1238 km is open to all CTAWA members. The tour will follow an anti-clockwise circular route commencing and finishing in York over nineteen riding days. Three rest days in the towns of Katanning, Ravensthorpe and Narembeen have been factored into the itinerary to allow participants time to recuperate and explore the area.

Prospective entrants who may elect to only participate in part of this event can utilise the country bus services of Transwa (buses can carry pre-booked bikes, luggage space permitting). Arranging Transwa bus reservations or any other method of transport to join or leave the tour at any point is entirely the responsibility of each individual.

This is a full pannier cycling tour and collective reservations (and payment) will only be made on behalf of those participants who are camping on their selected dates. Once the tour has commenced, no refunds or offsets of pre-paid camping fees against other forms of accommodation will be made.

Organisation of any other style of accommodation (cabins, villas, en-site caravans, B&Bs, motel/hotel rooms), either pre & post tour, the entire event or on any of the rest days is entirely the responsibility of individuals for arranging bookings and direct payment.

To enter the event, please complete a tour Registration Form from the list of documents for the event below. If you browser supports form filling, you should be able to fill in the form and save a copy.

Daily GPX tour routes are available here.
