Toodyay 2022 – WA Day Long Weekend

Saturday June 4, 2022 - Monday June 6, 2022

Distance: ~184km: ,

** Limited places still available (various accommodation options). Entries close 5:00pm on Wed 1st June. Please contact the Tour Leader. **

Toodyay is the destination for a 3 day (2 night) tour on the W.A. Day long weekend, Saturday 4th – Monday 6th June 2022. This tour will be a repeat (almost) of one led by Kleber on the 4th – 6th June 2016. The tour will depart and return to the Midland Station, with accommodation at the Freemason’s Hotel in Toodyay.

The ride from Midland Station to Toodyay on Saturday will head north to Bullsbrook then travel through the Chittering Valley and the Julimar Forest (and yes, up Julimar Road). This is a longer ride and our hosts, Stella and John are looking forward to seeing us return.

Sunday will be a day for participants to explore Toodyay and surrounds (or to simply have a rest). An optional short ride is available for those that wish to have a loop ride to the north of Toodyay and/or a second even shorter ride south east of Toodyay that goes to the Windmill Hill Cutting and back.

The final day, on the Public Holiday Monday, riders will return to Midland Station via Wooroloo, Chidlow and Parkerville, where the ride will take the Heritage Trail to Midland. An alternative route back to Midland that avoids most of Toodyay Road (approx. 100 metres) is a new and preferred option for the return ride and now available in the link below to GPX files.

Details of the accommodation options at the Freemason’s Hotel are as follows:

  • 3 motel units with ensuite (each with a queen bed and a single bed) – $90.00 for one person, $35.00 for each extra person, per night
  • 11 hotel rooms (shared bathroom and various room layouts, including queen bed only, queen + 2 single beds, double bed only, and twin room with two single beds) – $70.00 for one person, $25.00 for each extra person, per night
  • Continental breakfast included – this will be served in the Dining Room on both mornings, with a mix of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, spreads and multi-grain bread (for toast)
  • Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the motel units and in an upstairs area for hotel guests

Payment arrangements will be advised closer to the tour date.

A group dinner will be arranged for Saturday evening. The Beer garden is available on Sunday evening for pizza or fish & chips, etc. Bicycles can be taken upstairs (or stored in your room) when not riding.

The Toodyay visitor centre at 7 Piesse Street (across the road from the Freemason’s Hotel) is open Saturday and Sunday from 9:00am to 3:30pm – Ph: 9574 9380 or visit their website: https://www.toodyay.wa.gov.au/visit-toodyay/

Downloadable brochures for Toodyay and surrounds are available at: https://www.toodyay.wa.gov.au/visit-toodyay/visitor-information/maps-guides.aspx
