Australind Spoke Tour

Distance: ~300 km, generally flat topography, with some hills or short gravel sections, depending on route

Australind is the location for this year’s spoke tour from November 27 to December 2 2022. We will be based at the Australind Tourist Park, 65 Old Coast Road, Australind 6233 and enjoy daily rides out to nearby destinations. There is a broad range of accommodation options within this tourist park with chalets, motel rooms, bungalows and dongas, most with ensuite bathrooms along with powered and unpowered sites for tent and caravan users, as well as a camp kitchen.

As the northern most extension of the broader Bunbury suburban sprawl, Australind has transformed over the years from a quiet coastal holiday locality to a bustling new residential and commercial area with shopping hubs in both Eaton and Treendale servicing the bourgeoning population.
The format of the week will begin with a sign in and briefing at the tourist park at 5pm on Sunday evening 27 November 2022. Day ride route options to various destinations within the wider Bunbury area will take in towns such as Brunswick Junction, Capel, Dardanup, Harvey and Boyanup. The routes for all rides are

Depending on the number of participants there will be up to four rides groups per day, each riding to a different location to minimise pressure on local cafes. We will ride on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with a scheduled rest day on Wednesday for those wishing to visit Bunbury. If you are willing to be a ride leader of a group, please let me know.
A group dinner (voluntary attendance) will be organised at the Eaton Tavern, 1 Albatross Cres, Eaton (4km from the tourist park) on Tuesday 29 November 2022 the night before the rest day.
